    $180 a corner .. I think I am sold. The GSD3's are wayyy overpriced IMO at $240+

The shop that sells Advan Neova's are out of stock and not getting anymore unfortunately.
    yeh i use T1Rs
i'm wearing through them pretty quick, about the same as AD07s

i've also popped 2 on potholes (sidewall compressed and blew out), which I have never had happen before... but I can't say that's only due to the tyre because both times have been exceptional potholes

as far as grip and noise go, they are excellent

i was going to go R1R next time but because i've got two new tyres and two at 10-15% left, i'll be sticking with T1R for now.

    Thanks chaps

Alba - The Toyo R1R's have the following wear rating found off the ozhonda ...

    "UTQG (very rough tyre wear guide): T1-R 280, RE001 200, RE-01R 140"

and here off the toyo website regarding the R1R's

The UTQG Treadwear Rating of 140 allows the use of the Proxes R1R for the Clubsprint class at "Superlap" and "Time Attack" events where rules specify tyres with a UTQG Treadwear Rating of >100. Tread shaving / buffing will provide improved lap times for these events in dry conditions.

That means it will last you 10,000 kms instead of 20,000 !!! I was quoted $230 for R1R's and $175-180 for the T1R's which I think is OK.

Fk it .. better get the T1R's .. riding on the wear indicator already.
    ... need ... more ... power ...

My front tyres are starting to look like they are getting a bit thin on the inside edge (thats negative camber for you), might have to seriously look at getting some KU36's considering the price and my lack of track days. Bit of a waste having two well worn advans and two only half worns ones - just treat them as spares I guess!

Lemme know what you think of the KU36s. I'll need tyres this year and am looking at semi slicks on one set of rims and $99 tyres on my daily set as I'll be driving further to work each day soon...

Can I check that a cheap price on those KU36s is $150 each?

I think they were $133 not including P&H, but I believe that if more than one set is purchased from interstate customers, then the tyres can be freighted directly to a Kumho warehouse in your state, hence saving on shipping costs.
Pity they didn't have our standard size though even though the wider ones still fit.

Also got another bloody nail in my Advans this week, somehow my colt's handling has been crap lately (you know the feeling you get when you think you have a flat tyre, but when you check them they all seem fine) so I checked the tyre pressures today - the fixed puncture tyre was 37psi, all the rest were between 27-32 psi, no wonder I had crappy under steer!

    cant comment on wear yet.

The Toyo R1R are worse than the ad07's for noise and in the wet.

grip levels are supreme, 1st gear wheelspin almost eliminated and i can pretty much corner as hard as i want.

being a semi-slick they are many times better than the ad07s for grip.

    FINALLY

Got my KU36's to the track today

    And it was WET!!!

Everyone was having trouble, but I was so supprised how well the KU36's went with ACS on, ACS saved my ass many times, due to the fact it was wet and i was trying to push as much as i felt safe, and the grief I got into ACS gladley did its job way more than I thought it could.

    IMO its a life safer.

At one stage gong 70 to 80 kms around a corner on the gas the rear end steps out, and ACS caught it to issues what so ever.

Mega under steer ACS was so involved you could feel the whole car shuddering.

But once the track dried out, OMFG these tyres stuck like all bajesus. I dont know if it was highlighted by the fact in the wet you could barley turn in as much as normal, but once it was dry areas where I had heaps and heaps of wheels spin, the 215's stop 90% one up to temp

Hitting hard on the brakes the tyres held so well on the tarmac, and let go soft so ABS wasnt majorly involed

It was a shame after 10 laps in the near dry conditions I have a rather nasty noise comming from the wheels, Turns out I munched thru what was left on my front left inside pad quick smart, it let go really quick

Thankfully A mate of mine had brought a spair set of the exact same pad, we changed it, bleed some fluid form the calaper as the resivour was full and off I went to bed them in a few cool laps then threw 3 or 4 fast laps in where the tyres continued to impress me.

Also on that note my rear tyres which were on the front are shot, I changed them over ealy during the track day. So I can only expect more from them.

Ordered 2 more to pick up in the next few days.

So in general I love the KU36. Its awesome on the track and very very good on the street, but still as i said not super awesome in the wet but on the track they went rather well.

Very hard not to go past this tyre, 2 other cars had them on today.
I'm so JDM i shit anime
