re: dual port bov...
I remember a while back some complained of their bov's failing or pistons getting stuck or sticky... I think I know a problem...
The bov trumpet position is dictated by the position of the recirc entry. This allows the trumpet to point slightly up, which is great for the sound getting out the vent, but allows water to enter the same way...
Anyone who doesn't have a dual port and can spin their full atmo valve around should make it point slightly down to ensure rain water or whatever doesn't run straight into it...
Actually got that from someone on this forum. Can't remember where I read it but it was something like 2 and a half turns to soft from the full hard setting.
One thing I was wondering though, for all who know anything about the dual port, does the tension setting determine how much gets plumbed back into the system and how much gets released into atmo and hence how loud it is?
If not what does it affect?
I believe you can't adjust how much gets released to atmo or recirculated, but the adjustment is for overall... The hole/vent on the trumpet side is higher than that on the recirc side. That means at first, air is recirced, but at higher pressures it then also releases to atmo... Just adjust it to your liking and your needs...
Check this vid out from 3min on... A slightly different valve, but the same? lol...
